The City of Davisboro, Georgia seeks applicants for the position of City Manager. Davisboro is in middle Georgia, 75 miles east of Macon, Georgia. Davisboro offers community-wide events, including the 4th of July Fireworks Celebration and Annual Fall Festival hosted by the Davisboro Volunteer Fire Department. The festival features local and regional arts, crafts, vendors, music and is one of the best fireworks shows in central Georgia. This small city has a focus on continuous improvement and growth. The elected leadership seeks an individual with impeccable integrity and a passion for fostering a successful town center, safe, livable neighborhoods and expanding the city's enterprise operations. Davisboro offers all core municipal services. An elected mayor and four council members govern the city. The City Manager is the chief administrative officer responsible for the city's daily operation. The City Manager reports to the City Council. Five years of progressive experience in city management is preferred. Applicants should provide evidence of leadership in managing change and crafting community initiatives. In addition, the successful candidate will possess a strong ethical compass, an ability to communicate vision as well as strategic goals and a capacity to navigate a political Environment with direct experience in working with elected officials. Core skills include financial expertise, including experience with the budgeting process, trend assessment and forecasting; communication skills (both oral and written); excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for customer service. Economic Development experience is a plus. The successful candidate will possess minimum of a bachelor's degree or 5 years + experience in municipal government.
