American Axle & Manufacturing has openings for Senior Engineers Analytical, NVH at its facility in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Job duties include: 1. Develop CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) models based on NX/Unigraphics CAD models, using FEA (Finite Element Analysis) tools such as Simcenter and Hyper Works, MBD (Multibody Dynamics), and other CAE tools for NVH analysis and optimization of automotive driveline and powertrain systems including, but not limited to, eDrive systems (eMotor and gearbox), drive axles, PTUs, and propshafts.2. Perform automotive driveline system dynamics, kinematics, and acoustics simulations using NVH solvers including Nastran and Optistruct to identify NVH risks associated with gear train systems.3. Perform design iterations and optimization studies to identify best design solutions to meet internal and customer NVH requirements.4. Correlate CAE model results to vehicle and lab data and continuously enhance model accuracy and parameter databases.5. Develop new NVH CAE modeling methods and procedures to reduce reliance on testing.6. Participate and contribute to program peer reviews, analytical DVP&R, design best practices and lessons learned documentation using advanced knowledge of vibration, acoustics, dynamics, and Finite element theory.Position requires: Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electric/Drive Vehicle Engineering, CAD/CAM Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related engineering discipline, or foreign equivalent education, and 3 years experience working in analytical NVH engineering field in the position of Senior CAE Development Engineer, Project Engineer, Lead CAE Engineer, CAE Analysis Engineer, Lead Analyst, or other analytical engineering positions. 3 years experience is required in each of the following: 1. Working with modeling and simulation of automotive components using finite element tools including Simcenter or Hyper Works.2. Introduce and implement advanced NVH CAE methods to reduce reliance on testing.3. Working with NVH solvers including Nastran and Optistruct.4. Working with vibration, acoustics, dynamics, and Finite element theory.5. Performing NVH modeling and analysis of driveline systems, including eDrive systems (eMotor and gearbox), drive axles, PTUs, and propshafts.6. Working with CAD software including NX/Unigraphics.Experience may be obtained concurrently.Applicants should apply online at AAM.com/careers and reference job ID# JREQ-218702. | |
