FIREFIGHTER-PARAMEDIC AND FIREFIGHTER-EMT

To establish an Eligibility List for the classification of Firefighter-Paramedic and Firefighter-EMT, the City of Middletown will be accepting applications and will conduct an open competitive examination. The written examination will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.

Minimum Requirements:   High School Diploma or equivalent supplemented by courses in fire science technology or equivalent experience or training; possession of a valid Ohio Driver’s License. Applicants must provide a copy of current Ohio Firefighter and EMT Certifications at time of application or provide proof of enrollment in a Firefighter and EMT program at time of application. Firefighter-Paramedic applicants must obtain their Ohio Firefighter and Paramedic State Certifications prior to their appointment.  Recruitment and selection process to include written examination, interview, polygraph, medical exam, drug test, and physical ability test.

Starting salary: Firefighter-EMT $60,417; Firefighter-Paramedic $69,142 annually with excellent benefits and additional certification pay.
