About the Program

The Department of Teacher Education and Learning Sciences (TELS)invites an accomplished, forwardthinking scholar to help shape thefuture of elementary teacher preparation. This tenure-track facultymember will join a collaborative academic community committed tohigh-impact research, exceptional teaching,
meaningful mentorship, and sustained engagement with schools andcommunities across North Carolina

Position Details

The successful candidate will maintain an active program ofresearch, publication, grant writing, and external funding focusedon pre-service elementary teacher preparation programs and theirimpact. They will teach undergraduate and graduate elementaryeducation courses, including the Master of Arts in Teachingprogram, with a strong preference for expertise in elementarysocial studies education. The successful
candidate will also recruit, advise, and mentor graduate studentsand serve on doctoral committees. In addition, they willcollaborate across NC State and provide service, outreach, andleadership with schools, districts, professional organizations, andcommunities across North Carolina

Required Qualifications

Education: A doctorate in Teacher Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Elementary Education, or a related field.
Teaching experience: Undergraduate and/or graduate teaching inelementary education, experience preparing preservice
teachers, and K-6 classroom experience.
Scholarly promise: A scholarship and funding record commensuratewith experience and demonstrated potential for
excellence in research, teaching, extension, and service.
Student support: Demonstrated ability to work effectively withindividuals from a wide range of backgrounds, perspectives,
and experiences and to support varied academic and professionalneeds
