The State of Connecticut Judicial Branch is seeking a Court Planner for its Performance Management and Judicial Branch Statistics Unit. The Performance Management and Judicial Branch Statistics Unit supports the Chief Court Administrators office (CCA) and the Branch with information for budget proposals, new initiatives, operational resource allocation and legislation. The Unit collects, analyzes and prepares information for required reports for the CCA, the media, the legislature, the governors office, National Center for State Courts, and the operating units of the Branch. The Unit conducts surveys, assesses current business practices and supports the Branchs commitment to the principles of quality assurance. The unit develops plans to promote increased efficiency and effectiveness. The unit also examines court records to ensure compliance with statutes, practice book rules and Judicial Branch policies and procedures.

The successful candidate for this position will:

have familiarity with statistical concepts and related software;
perform and/or assist in the preparation of correspondence, manuals, business intelligence reporting and     documentation as required;
produces reports utilizing a variety of software packages;
performs other related duties as required.

The successful candidates desired skill set includes:

a thorough understanding of data warehousing concepts
experience building Business Intelligence solutions (reports, dashboards,
scorecards)
experience assembling and validating large datasets for research/analysis
experience working with data in Excel
the ability to work with staff of varying skill levels, both technical and non-
technical
strong communications skills including written, verbal, presentation and
interpersonal
proven ability to produce quality work independently, with minimal supervision
proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
experience with Microsoft SQL Server code (preferred but not required)

Salary Range: $90,935 - $119,208/year plus State of Connecticut benefits. New employees begin at the minimum. The starting salary for existing state employees may be higher than the minimum, in accordance with existing Judicial Branch policy.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

General Experience: Five (5) years of experience in governmental or regional planning, research and policy analysis, methods and procedures analysis, organizational analysis, or a related field.

Substitutions Allowed:

1) College training may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen semester hours equaling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for a Bachelor's degree.
2) A Master's degree in a related field may be substituted for the General Experience. Applications must be received by October 5, 2026.
